Display Details of a Database Instance

You can use the Database Manager to view the settings of the database instances that are in place on a particular server. This is especially useful when you are adding a new database instance, as some settings, such as the Port, need to be unique. By looking at the settings of other database instances, you can see which ports, databases etc., are already in use.

To view the settings that are in place for a database instance:

  1. Display the Database Manager.
  2. Select the database instance you are interested in from the list. Note that the (Default) database instance is the first ClearSCADA database server that was installed. The named database instances are those ClearSCADA database servers that were added by using the Database Manager.
  3. Select the Details button.
The Database Instance Details window is displayed.

    Database Instance Details

The Details window shows the settings that were selected when the database instance was first created. If you need to change any of these settings, you should shut the database instance down, delete it, and create a new database instance.

  4. Select Close when you have finished looking at the database instance details.
